| CINECRI ’16 / 3rd International Film Studies and Cinematic Arts Conference will be held on June 10-11, 2016 in Istanbul. The conference is coordinated by DAKAM (Eastern Mediterranean Academic Research Center). From melodramas to comedies, any genre or film that embraces violence to a lesser or greater degree, films that display diverse aspects of the phenomenon - whether they focus on the everyday violence that ordinary individuals encounter frequently or documentaries and war films that touch upon the socio-political dimension of it or Hollywood blockbusters that bestow a certain dose of banality to the violence - are in the scope of this year’s conference. The papers or panel proposals that address the aforementioned representations of the phenomenon as well as those that bring up historical, political, cultural, sociological or psychiatric perspectives on cinematic violence are cordially invited to apply until March 4, 2016. PUBLICATION All submitted papers are subject to double blind peer review. Conference proceedings are going to be available on DVD as e-book and DAKAM's digital library with an ISBN number before the conference and will be sent to be reviewed for inclusion in the "Thomson & Reuters Web of Science's Conference Proceedings Citation Index" (CPCI) and Google Scholars.
