| INAUGURAL COMMUNICATION & MEDIA STUDIES CONFERENCE University Center Chicago Chicago, USA 15-16 September 2016 CALL FOR PAPERS Proposals for paper presentations, workshops, posters, or colloquia are invited for the Inaugural Communication & Media Studies Conference held at the University Center Chicago, Chicago, USA, 15-16 September 2016. Proposals are invited that address communication and media studies through one of the following categories: Theme 1: Media Theory Theme 2: Media Technologies and Processes Theme 3: Media Business Theme 4: Media Literacies Theme 5: Media Cultures 2016 SPECIAL FOCUS: 'Communication and Media Studies: After the Internet?' VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS If you are unable to attend the conference in person, you may present in a Virtual Poster session or a Virtual Lightning Talk. Virtual sessions enable participants to present work to a body of peers and to engage with colleagues from afar. As a virtual participant, presenters are scheduled in the formal program, have access to select conference content, can submit an article for peer review and possible publication, may upload an online presentation, and can enjoy annual membership to the community and subscriber access to The Journal of Communication & Media Studies. THE JOURNAL OF COMMUNICATION & MEDIA STUDIES All presenters are invited to submit written articles for publication to the fully refereed Journal of Communication & Media Studies. Articles may be submitted by in-person and virtual participants as well as Community Members. SUBMISSION DEADLINE The current review period closing date for the latest round of submissions to the Call for Papers (a title and short abstract) is *15 October 2015*.
