9th Global Conference: Cybercultures Wednesday 15th May - Friday 17th May 2013 Lisbon, Portugal Call For Presentations: This inter- and multi-disciplinary conference aims to examine, explore and critically engage with the issues and implications created by the growing adoption of information technologies for inter-human communication. The project will also focus on assessing the continuing impact of emergent cybermedia for human communication and culture. Preservation of Digital Media Heritage. The Steering Group particularly welcomes the submission of pre-formed panel proposals. In order to support and encourage interdisciplinarity engagement, it is our intention to create the possibility of starting dialogues between the parallel events running during this conference. Delegates are welcome to attend up to two sessions in each of the concurrent conferences. We also propose to produce cross-over sessions between two and possibly all three groups - and we welcome proposals which deal with the relationship between Cybercultures and/or transmedia narratives, immersive worlds and/or monstrous geographies. 12th Global Conference: Violence Friday 2nd May â€" Sunday 4th May 2014 Lisbon, Portugal Call for Presentations This conference is one of a continuing series that aims to bring together people from a wide range of disciplines to focus on Violence. Our intention is to contribute to the body of thought which seeks to understand the nature and causes of this endemic feature of society. Such a complex phenomenon has many faces, a multitude of contexts (real or imagined), and many possible explanations in relation to causation and to the role Violence has played and still plays in societies all over the world and at every stage of development. Perpetrators may be states, political or religious factions within states, military groups, state or private institutions, communities, gangs, families or individuals. The range of possible victims is equally diverse and possible explanations range across historical, cultural, political, ethical, literary, functional, psychological, criminological, sociological, biological and economic sources. We therefore invite contributions from any and all of these disciplinary areas. Our inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary approach seeks to do justice to the richness of this theme at a conference where fruitful dialogue between and across disciplines is highly valued. Aside from his 25-year involvement with Hope, Lowell has dedicated much of his life to social and environmental improvement projects throughout the world. DAMIN Conference Chair - Georges Depeyrot Georges Depeyrot is a monetary historian at the French National Center for Scientific Research, (CNRS) in Paris. He began his scientific career in the 1970's studying coin finds and joined the CNRS in 1982. After some years he joined the Center for Historical Research in the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) and is now a professor at the École Normale Supérieure. After his habilitation (1992), he specialized in international cooperative programs that aim to reconsider monetary history in a global approach. He has directed many cooperative programs linking several European countries, including those situated at the continent’s outer borders (Georgia, Armenia, Russia, and Morocco). Professor Depeyrot is the author or coauthor of more than one hundred volumes, and is the founding director of the Moneta publishing house, the most important collection of books on the topic of money (www.moneta.be). Aside from the continuation of the studies in the field of Ancient coin finds, his current program of study is concentrated on the history of the 19th century monetary unification and crises, in cooperation with European countries, Russia and Japan as part of the DAMIN research group on silver monetary depreciation and international relations (ANR 2011 BSH3 008 01). Fourteenth International Diversity in Organizations, Communities and Nations Conference

Fourteenth International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities and Nations Vienna, Austria, Austria 9-11 July 2014 Dear Delegate, Proposals for paper presentations, workshops, posters or colloquia are invited for the Fourteenth International Conference on Diversity in Organizations, Communities and Nations being held at the Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Vienna, Austria from 9-11 July 2014. We welcome proposals from a variety of disciplines and perspectives that will contribute to the conference discourse. We also encourage faculty and research students to submit joint proposals for paper presentations or colloquia. Proposals are invited that address issues of diversity through one of the following categories: Theme 1: Identity and Belonging Theme 2: Education and Learning in a World of Differences Theme 3: Organizational Diversity Theme 4: Community Diversity and Governance Presenters may also choose to submit written papers for publication in the fully refereed Diversity Collection of Journals. If you are unable to attend the conference in person, virtual registrations are also available which allow you to submit an article based on your presentation for possible publication in these fully refereed academic journals. Proposals for in-person presentations should be submitted by 1 May 2014 (title and short abstract). Proposals submitted after this day will be accommodated in non-themed sessions at the conference or are eligible for virtual registrations (no attendance at conference required with virtual presentations).
