Are you tired of events that are remembered only
for what happened during coffee breaks? Are you
looking for new ways of designing conference
programmes, actively involving participants and
increasing the added value of your conferences?
In the last years, a number of new techniques and
methodologies (unconferences, barcamps, etc.) have
increasingly been used to design and manage
conferences and meetings in more innovative and
fruitful ways. All those techniques basically
derive from Open Space Technology format. Open
Space Technology is a simple way to run productive
meetings, for five to 2000+ people, and a powerful
way to lead any kind of organization, in everyday
practice and extraordinary change. It's use in
conferences and gatherings increases the
opportunity for participants to share their
knowledges, follow their passion and take the
responsibility for discussing what really matters
to them.
About the workshop:
The International Open Space Facilitator explores
the use and potentialities of Open Space
Technology and its applications in the design and
(un)management of meetings and gatherings with
particular reference to conference settings. It
will equip you with the essential skills to design
and execute an open space event or incorporate
open space within your existing conference formats.
